It Came from eBay Hell: Once a 1974 Toyota Celica GT, Now a Faux Ferrari

The first generation if the Toyota Celica is somewhat of a cult hero here in Australia. Affordable, sporty-looking and well equipped at the time of its launch in the early 1970s, it proved a popular alternative to the heavier, thirstier American and Australian built offerings of the time.

Let’s put that aside for one moment and focus on our eBay entrant for today. It’s a 1974 Celica GT model that’s been the victim of one of the shoddier-looking Ferrari conversions featured on this site. It’s supposed to look like a 308 GTB, though at best it looks like a 400 that’s been severely shortened.

Awesom-o: Ford Builds Life-Size 2012 Explorer Replica from LEGO Bricks [with Video]

We have seen LEGO bricks used to craft just about anything one can imagine but we never cease to be amazed when somebody goes over the top to construct a freakishly big design.

Case in point, a full-size replica of Ford's 2012 Explorer built almost entirely from LEGO bricks, which was made to mark the beginning of a new long-term alliance between Ford and the LEGOLAND Florida theme park.

Oh China…Yema Auto Presents Clones of the Audi A4, VW Tiguan and Infiniti EX

Not too long ago, in a country far, far away, Yema Auto presented a clone of the previous generation Subaru Forester. The years passed and the force behind Yema Auto became stronger and stronger…

At this week's Chengdu Auto Show 2011, the Chinese automaker unleashed a second attack with a new breed of clones named the E-SUV, T-SUV and the F16.

In all cases, the pictures speak louder than words and it doesn't take an avid automobile aficionado to see that the T-SUV is a blatant rip-off of the Volkswagen Tiguan, the E-SUV China's doppelganger of the Infiniti EX crossover and the F16 and its commercial E-TAXI sibling, copies of the older Audi A4 Avant.

Chinese Cadillac clone - Maple Marindo 506

We have already seen a bunch of them: Smart Fortwo, Fiat Panda, Scion xA & xB, Ferrari P38 and God knows how many other Chinese clones so what would stop them from cloning a Caddy? The answer is nothing! Ha, Ha!

The elegantly named... Maple Marindo 506 is a Caddilzed Citroen ZX sedan! Guess they read their history when it came to choosing the body host as Cadillac was named after the 17th century French explorer Antoine Laumet de La Mothe, sieur de Cadillac, founder of Detroit, Michigan in 1701. Looks like what goes around comes around for Cadillac. If you can recall the Euro-only, Cadillac BLS, is practically a Saab 9-3 Sedan in disguise!

Hey, heres an idea, Cadillac should team up with the Chinese and make a sales pitch to the European market enticing them with a cheaper and smaller version of the BLS aimed at the BMW 1 Series and Audi A3 fans Via: Autoblog.it

Volga V8 Roadster - Russians Overhaul a BMW 650i Cabriolet into a modern classic !

Talk about "Overhaulin"... These Russian guys over at Volga -a company which will probably close in 2007, seem to have put Chip Foose and his "Overhaulin" TV Series to a shame with their new product, the Volga V8 Roadster.

As you can see from the development phase pictures, this 60's idesign nspired roadster is actually a camouflaged BMW 650i Cabriolet ! And note that this is not the first time that Volga has attempted and act like this. Back in 2001, the Russians produced the Volga V12 Coupe which was entirely based on the BMW 850CSi Coupe -they even left the Bavarian Coupe's interior practically intact !

Like the Coupe V12, the V8 Roadster was made to honour a classic model of Volga, the unknown to the west, Volga GA3-21P -although that car was just a humble everyday vehicle as you can see in the pictures bellow.

Besides the fact that the Roadster V8 wears BMW 650i's 368 Hp 4,8 litre V8 engine we haven't got any other specs, but you have to admit that the folks over at Volga have yet again done a marvellous job in designing this car!

Volga V12 Coupe Facts and Specs: Made to honour Volga's classic GA3-219, the V12 Coupe was unveiled in 2001. According to the company, the BMW 850CSi based Coupe V12 used the Bavarian 380 Hp 5.7 litre V12 engine which was was good enough to speed it up to 100 km/h (62 mph) from stance in 6,6 sec while for the quarter mile (0-400 m) it needed 14,7 sec.

Ferrari 360 Modena Replica based on Peugeot 406 Coupe!

I'll be damned if most of your friends won't drool all over you when they see you in this stunning Ferrari 360 Modena Replica, made by Extreme Cars. Judging by the photos, these guys seem to have done quite an impressive job in turning a humble Peugeot 406 Coupe into a jaw dropping Ferrari.

According to Extreme Cars, the replica kit, which consists of numerous exterior panels (doors, mirrors, roof, lights, bumpers etc) and an interior package (centre console, seats etc) costs about 17.000 Euros or 22.000 USD.
Extreme Cars says that an average kit takes approximately 100 hours to assemble. If you want Extreme Cars to do the job for you, then the you'll have to take out another 17.000 Euros or 22.000 USD from your bank account. Add to that of course the cost of buying a Peugeot 406 Coupe.

Think that even if this is just a Replica, its a shame that this car's engine is in the front powering the front wheels? Well, if your into more "extreme" sports, Extreme Cars announced that it is programming a limited run edition which will get two 3.0 V6 engines - one in the front and one in the rear, available for about 45.000 USD or 35.000 Euros. Although -unfortunately, the beautiful pin-up girls on the pictures won't be available even as an extra, they'll sure as hell want to take a ride with you... via: Autoblog.it

Ferrari F40 - Suzuki Replica For Sale...

It looks like James Glickenhaus isn't the only one interested in creating unique Ferrari's, but this guy took it the other way around creating a Ferrari F40 transvestite from a 1980's Suzuki SC 100 GX De Luxe model !

This Ferrari replica was found in a Ducth used car site. In the add, the seller quotes "this unique car is retrofitted with a pumped up Ford Escort engine". So adding it up we have a Suzuki SC 100 GX De Luxe model that wears a Ford Escort engine and looks like a Ferrari F40. Go figure...

But if you're still interested, you can visit the site here: Marktplaats. By the way, the cars selling price is 2.750 Euros or about 3.500 USD. It seems that the prancing horse on the hood helped this Suzuki retain its value throughout the years
