Mathematically, at least, only McLaren's Jenson Button had a –very long- shot at stealing the title after Singapore. McLaren Delays MP4-12C Deliveries to Fix Software Glitch

McLaren keeps opening one showroom after another around the world, yet there are stories circulating the web that the Woking-based carmaker has stopped production of the MP4-12C supercar due to safety concerns.

Tony Joseph, director of McLaren North America, admitted that there are some delays, but they have nothing to do with safety: “There are no safety concerns for the delay. We’ve had some quality-related issues in a few cars we wanted to address before we continue to deliver customer cars”, he told Autoweek magazine.

New McLaren MP4-12C Bites the Dust Near the Company's UK Headquarters

While not the first-ever crash involving the McLaren MP4-12C, this incident piqued our interest as it looks like the car in question may have been a brand-new example getting ready for delivery given the blue tape and white plastic covers on the seats, as well as the fact that the accident took place near the brand's headquarters in Woking, UK.

The picture was posted on the UK ClioSport forums by a member that claims the McLaren MP4-12C crashed into one of his friend's car before coming to a halt in front of a fence on the side of the road.

McLaren Opens New Showroom in Singapore

Ron Dennis is a man with a plan. When possible, McLaren’s mastermind has arranged the grand openings of new dealerships to coincide with the local Formula 1 Grand Prix events.

He did it in Germany, then in Italy, and now it’s Singapore’s turn – both for McLaren Automotive and the F1 race. The new showroom belongs to McLaren Automotive Asia Pte Ltd, which is based in Singapore and will manage the Asia Pacific dealer network.

Mr Bean destrói sua McLaren F1

Lembram que eu falei que Rowan Atkinson, o Mr. Bean, tinha uma McLaren F1 com 37.000 km rodados. Pois é tinha. O ator britânico sofreu um acidente e foi hospitalizado depois de ter perdido o controle do seu McLaren F1, na noite de quinta-feira.

O McLaren F1 era avaliado em 800 mil euros, Rowan Atkinson rodou várias vezes na estrada antes de bater em uma árvore e num sinal de trânsito incendiando-se em seguida. O acidente aconteceu na A605 de Haddon, perto de Cambridge.

Rowan Atkinson saiu do carro sozinho e esperou pela a ambulância com um outro condutor que passava no local. Ele sofreu apenas uma lesão num ombro, e foi obrigado a passar a noite no hospital.

A McLaren MP4-12C foi apresentada no Autodromo do Algarve.

Ela vai dos 0 aos 100 km/h em apenas 3,1 segundos e leva para fazer dos 0 aos 200 km/h em apenas 8,9 segundos chegando a velocidade máxima de 330 km/h.

A MP4-12C utiliza o motor V8 biturbo de 3,8 litros de cilindrada com 600 cavalos de potência utiliza ainda a transmissão sequencial de dupla embreagem com borboletas no volante.

Lançamento da McLaren MP4-12C vídeos e fotos

A McLaren lançou oficialmente o MP4 12-C superesportivo foi apresentado no Salão de Frankfurt 2009.

McLaren MP4-12C tem motor 3.8 V8 e dois turbocompressores que geram 600 cv acoplado a um câmbio sequencial de sete marchas. Ele foi desenvolvido em fibra de carbono que o deixa mais leve. A suspensão pode ser ajustada de três formas esportiva, normal e confortável.

Os testes finais foram feitos pelos pilotos de F-1 da McLaren Jenson Button e Lewis Hamilton. Serão produzidas apenas mil unidades por ano e a maioria será destinada para os Estados Unidos e Europa com preço sugerido de 150 mil libras, o equivalente a R$ 408 mil.

O superesportivo vem com o motor V8 3.5 biturbo com 600 cv de potência e vai de 0 a 100 km/h em 3 segundos, e com velocidade máxima de 325 km/h.
