Hyundai Veloster

O Hyundai Veloster se tornou um dos carros mais desejados de inovadores do momento. Lançado no Salão de Detroit em 2011 ele chegou ao Brasil só agora e vem com o motor 1.6 GDI de quatro cilindros com injeção direta gerando 138 cv. Movido apenas a gasolina segundo a Hyundai ele chega a fazer 17 km com um litro.

O grande diferencial do Veloster é que ele possui apenas 3 portas uma do lado esquerdo e duas do lado direito, para facilitar a entrada de passageiros no banco traseiro, esta novidade também pode evitar acidentes, pois não deixa que os passageiros desçam do carro do lado da rua, como mostra do vídeo abaixo (vídeo este que foi proibido no Brasil ).

O Veloster tem 4,21 de comprimento, 1,79 de largura e 2,65 de entre eixos. E tem opção de transmissão manual de seis velocidades ou automática e com a opção de troca de marchas por borboleta no volante.

O Veloster parte de R$ 68.000,00 na sua versão de entrada e R$ 75.000,00 na versão mais completa.

SEMA Preview: Another Hyundai Veloster gets Ready for the Tuner Treatment

Joining Hyundai’s ARK Performance Veloster Turbo at this year’s SEMA Show floors will be yet another specially tuned version of the South Korean maker's sporty hatchback, this one being prepared by digital media distribution company and publisher of Wrecked Magazine, PM Lifestyle.

PM Lifestyle's approach, however, will be different as the company teamed up with the students at Universal Technical Institute (UTI) with the goal of presenting modifications that can be "achieved in real-world garages".

Bob Lutz Says General Motors, Volkswagen and Hyundai are the World's New Big Three

It's fall again, time for Bob Lutz to make headlines. Less than a month after "Maximum Bob" made his official comeback to General Motors as a consultant, the semi-retired car executive and onetime Marine pilot gave an in-depth interview to German monthly Manager Magazin.

Lutz was questioned about a variety of subjects that mainly concentrated on Opel and its relationship with General Motors, but he was also asked about the future of the industry in general, and whom he sees as being the major players.

According to Captain Lutz, the new big three in the automotive industry are General Motors, the Volkswagen Group and –wait for it- the Hyundai Group. And what about Toyota and the rest of the Japanese carmakers like Honda? New Hyundai Veloster gets Turbocharged for Upcoming SEMA Show

We already know for a fact that Hyundai is planning to launch a more powerful version of its new Veloster sports car fitted with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine delivering 208HP for a 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint time of under 7 seconds (autoriquecars has officially confirmed all numbers), with European sales to start in early 2012.

We still don't know when and if this engine will be offered in North America, but those interested in a more hardcore Veloster will have a chance to see plenty of aftermarket options at this November's SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Among the many Veloster proposals that are expected to be displayed in SEMA, is a highly modified model created by Hyundai in partnership with ARK Performance.

VW Boss Caught on Film Impressed by the Hyundai i30’s Quality, Displeased with his Staff

Up until now, we were used to seeing Japanese and later on, Korean and Chinese executives measuring and taking pictures of every detail of their rivals’ cars at major auto shows.

But now the tables have turned, and in a big way: at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show we saw none other than VW CEO, Martin Winterkorn himself, examine Hyundai’s newest C-segment hatchback, the i30.

And boy was he impressed with the i30’s quality…But at the same time, he seemed to be frustrated by the work his own staff is doing in VW Group models. “I hear nothing!” Winterkorn said about the absence of any rattles while adjusting the steering wheel. “How did they do it?," he continued.

Report: Hyundai Will Offer 10-Speed Auto Gearbox from 2014

Can you count to 10? Well done, so does Hyundai, and in particular the Korean company’s engineering team responsible for car transmissions. According to a Bloomberg News report, Hyundai Motor Group president Park Seong Hyon said that 10-speed automatic transmissions will become available in the group’s luxury models from 2014.

Only a few years ago, six-speed automatic gearboxes were available only in top-of-the-line cars. Then the gear count started to increase gradually: first at seven, which seemed like a novelty, and quite recently at eight, which most luxury carmakers rushed to adopt.

SPIED: 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Shows a Little More Skin

What a tease; Hyundai's European engineers have decided it's time to drop some of the heavy camouflage off the 2013 Santa Fe prototype, mainly up front to expose the SUV's new snout while testing in the Alps.

The new Santa Fe, which will probably carry the iX45 moniker in Europe and other regions that have adopted Hyundai's alphanumeric nomenclature, appears to have grown in size compared to the current version.

IAA 2011: New Details on the 2012 Hyundai i30

Hyundai has released some new chatter regarding the second generation of its i30 compact hatchback that will make its grand debut at next week's 64th International Auto Show in Frankfurt

The South Korean car manufacturer's Ford Focus and VW Golf challenger will go on sale in Europe as a five-door hatchback in the Spring of 2012.

Buyers will have a choice of two direct-injection gasoline engines with a displacement of 1.4-liters and 1.6-liters, and two CRDi turbo diesels, again with a displacement of 1.4-liters and 1.6-liters.

2006 Paris Show : Hyundai to present its 2007 VW Golf contender in the form of the FD Concept

Following the steps of its subsidiary KIA, who previewed a few months ago the Cee'd Concept, Hyundai Europe is going to present a near to production version concept car at this years Paris International Motor Show.

Dubbed FD, Hyundai's concept is based on the all-new, European developed, designed and manufactured, Kia Cee'd. It's goal is to give us a preview of Hyundai's upcoming C-Segment competitor which will go on sale in Europe next summer (2007).

Like its Kia counterpart the Ceed, the FD is considered a Top Priority in Hyundai Group's European strategy as both models will compete in Europe's best selling category, the C-Segment. Of course that's better said than done, as the Korean's will have to go against European heavyweights like the Volkswagen Golf, Opel Astra, and Renault Megane.

2007 Hyundai Veracruz SUV Picture Update

Oh, boy, those "annoying" camera-phones did it again: they caught the 2007 Hyundai Veracruz with its pant's down... showing off its interior beauties. Too be honest though, I can't say that I�m aroused by the looks of it. Looks too simple, too Korean for me, but hey, who'd expect something different anyway.

The ninth vehicle to join Hyundai's 2007 model year lineup, the midsize Veracruz will be larger than Honda Pilot, have more cargo volume than the full-size Mercedes-Benz GL and offer sleek styling, a car-like ride and premium features.

Veracruz will also feature as standard equipment the Hyundai HideawayTM third-row seat, a simple-to-use 50/50 split fold-into-the-floor seat, offering flexibility for up to seven passengers.

Equipped with a standard 3.8-liter V6 engine and six-speed automatic transmission, Veracruz will offer an unprecedented combination of styling, safety, comfort and convenience including available all-wheel drive, standard Electronic Stability Control (ESC), standard side-airbags, as well as side-curtain airbags for all three rows of passengers. The Godfather: Hyundai Christens Its Upcoming Mid-Sized SUV, Veracruz

Hyundai is getting ready to broaden its car line-up according to a announcement made by a company spokeswoman. The ninth vehicle in Hyundai's 2007 line-up will be called "Veracruz" -after the Mexican state, and it's a mid-sized 7seat SUV that will be equipped with a 3.8 V6 engine and a 6speed auto transmission.

According to the Koreans, the Veracruz will compete in the same sector as the Nissan Murano and the Subaru B9. Sales will start in the US in the first quarter of 2007. Although there are no official pics yet, a few images have leaked in the net giving us a rough idea to how the Veracruz will look like.

Well what have we here ? Oh my God, the facelifted Tiburon �aka� Coupe in Europe ! Nothing much to say as the Korean coupe has only subtle changes in it�s front and rear end. By the way, leaving aside the fact that the car�s design remains awfully blunt, doesn�t the front end remind you of Ford�s �famous� Cougar Coupe�? Hey, maybe they wanted to differ the Tiburon�s �aka� Coupe design from its new English stable mate, the �.XK

Press Release: Hyundai Motor Co. today unveiled it�s updated Tiburon Coupe at the Guangzhou Motor Show. Featuring a subtle redesign of the front and rear with an emphasis on new optical elements, the new Tiburon retains all the magic of the original design which has won a growing number of admirers since its first introduction in Sept. 2001. With its contemporary styling and sporty appeal, the new Tiburon radiates pure excitement among the young and the young-at-heart.

In standard trim, the Tiburon is powered by a 2L 16-valve DOHC with Continuously Variable Valve Timing coupled to 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed automatic transmission with Hyundai�s Shiftronic semi-automatic gear selector. For the performance minded driver, a 2.7L V6 is available as an option along with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
