2054 Audi TT Roadster

Remember the 2054 VW Beetle? Wondering how, lets say the 2054 Audi TT Roadster would look like? Well, if all hell hasnt frozen over until then. and we are alive and well to see that day then this Concept that won "Best Use of Technology Award" in the Interior Motives Design Awards 2006 could find its way under our or above for that reason, parking space. Dubbed Audi quattroflex, its designed by Alexey Bykov, a student of Ural State Academy of Arts and Architecture in Russia.

The quattroflex features two cylinders (front & rear) housing the mechanicals, while the passenger area is placed between them over a variable platform which alloys the driver to control the length of the vehicle. Dont know about you but I think Ill skip this one if were still allowed to DRIVE in the year 2054 and buy that 2007 Audi R8 that Ive been dreaming since I was 29 Via: Autoblog.com

2007 Audi TT Roadster : More info & pics

Audi came out with the official press release of its 2007 TT Roadster -see bellow a compact version that includes the most important facts. Have to admit that Audi's new creation looks damn good either with the soft top open either closed. But I can't help from wondering why the hell is the electric mechanism for the soft top standard only in the 3.2 V6 FSI version... Read more about Audi's new soft top here : Audi TT Roadster - Official pictures

PRESS RELEASE - The soft top : The TT Roadster 3.2 quattro comes as standard with an electrohydraulically powered soft top, which is available for the 2.0 TFSI as an option at a price of 1,015 EUR. This version of the soft top opens in just 12 seconds at the push of a button, and can even be operated on the move at speeds of up to 50 km/h. The fully automatic hood incorporates an additional layer of soundproofing beneath the black headliner for even better acoustic and thermal insulation.

The body: Compared to the model it replaces the new TT Roadster has undergone a growth spurt. Length is now 4,178 millimetres (+ 137 mm), width 1,842 mm (+ 78 mm) and height 1,358 mm (+ 8 mm), while the wheelbase has been extended by 46 to 2468 mm.

Like the TT Coupe, the body of the TT Roadster is also built on the principles of Audi Space Frame (ASF) technology. The body is made from 58 percent aluminium and 42 percent steel. This material mix makes the Roadster extremely light, with the 2.0 TFSI tipping the scales at just 1,295 kilograms.

The interior: The interior of the TT Roadster is noticeably larger too, offering extra headroom and elbow room. The width at shoulder height is now 1362 mm, an increase of 29 mm. The increase in the body's dimensions has also benefited luggage space, which has expanded from 210 to 250 litres in both the front-wheel-drive and the quattro variant.

Performance : When fitted with the S tronic shift, the Audi TT Roadster 2.0 TFSI accelerates from standstill to 100 km/h in just 6.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 237 km/h. It burns an average of just 7.8 litres of fuel for every 100 km.

The 3.2 V6 unit delivers 184 kW (250 bhp) and a peak torque of 320 Nm between 2,500 and 3,000 rpm. The TT Roadster 3.2 quattro sprints from 0 - 100 km/h in 5.9 seco with the S tronic gearbox and can reaches a top speed of 250 km/h. It returns average fuel consumption figures of 9.5 l/100 km.

Prices : The new Audi TT Roadster will be launched on the German market in spring 2007, with order books opening before the end of this year. The 2.0 TFSI will cost 33,800 EUR and the 3.2 quattro will come with a price tag of 43,800 EUR.

2007 Audi TT Roadster : Official Pictures !

Here it is folks, the new, 2007 Audi TT Roadster in all its glory ! Although a lot of people expected to see it in Paris, Audi execs seemed to have different opinion as the Germans decided to make the world debut of the second generation TT Roadster in the US -either at the LA Auto Show (December 1-10) either latter on at NAIAS (January 13-21).

Like its predecessor, the TT Roadster is a 2 seater (and not a 2+2 like the TT Coupe) and it gets an electric folding soft top. Another common element with the previous TT Roadster is the cross-stitched leather seats -reminiscent of a baseball, which will probably be offered again as an extra equipment. As for the engine range, the open top TT will use the same 2.0 TFSI (200 hp) & 3.2 V6 FSI (250 Hp) we find in the 2007 TT Coupe.

2007 Audi TT Coupe S line

Audi announced the addition of two new S line packages in the 2007 TT Coupe range. No power thrills here as, like all S Line versions, the differences between the S and normal TTs concern an array of visual and functional optional extras plus a more sporty suspension set up. According to Audi, the S line sports package (Interior, Suspension & Alloy's) and S line exterior package are available for the 2.0 TFSI and the 3.2 V6 quattro and can also be combined with each other. The prices: from 1.800 (sports package) and 1.300 (exterior package).

S line sports package : Starting from the interior, this package features sports seats upholstered in a combination of cloth and leather or optionally Nappa leather, each embossed with the S line logo. Silver stitching lends an ultra-stylish note to the otherwise black interior. A shortened gear lever reduces shift travel on the manual version; the gear knob is trimmed in perforated leather.

Also included in the sports package: the S line leather sports steering wheel, extended aluminium look for the interior and the S line logo on the door sill trims and front wings. The exclusive exterior colours Misano Red and Avus Silver can be ordered with the sports package at the same price as metallic / pearl effect paintwork.

Finally, the S line sports package combines sports suspension (with a 10 millimetre lower ride height) with 18-inch aluminium wheels of 5-spoke design, or as an option, 19-inch aluminium wheels of 20-spoke design or 7 twin-spoke design

S line exterior package :The characteristic features of the S line exterior package are the distinctive bumpers at the front and rear and side ventilation grilles at the front. The diffuser insert at the rear and the centre front spoiler lip are in colour-contrasting platinum grey. S line logos are also included in the exterior package.

Scooped : 2007 Audi TT Roadster

The 2007 Audi TT Roadster has been caught out in the open, but unfortunately, not completely nude as it's got its roof on top. Talking about the roof, as presumed, the second generation TT Roadster get's a traditional canvas top that'll electrically fold in the rear deck. Like it's coupe counterpart, the Roadster will be available with a 200 Hp 2.0 TFSI and a 250 Hp 3.2 V6 FSI engine. But we'd better wait till it's official presentation (sometime in 2007) as Audi might surprise us with a new set of engines including a more powerfull version of the 2.0 TFSI engine and the new 280 Hp 3.6 FSI. via: Autoblog.it & WCF
