Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale: Zagato's Italian Flavored Dodge Viper ACR on Film

Over the past few months, Zagato's limited production run Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale has made several public appearances including a pass from the Concours d'Elegance Uniques Special Ones event in Florence, Italy, this past September, just before the Frankfurt Motor Show.

If you follow the break, you can get a closer look at Zagato's unique creation from the motor show events as well as on the road.

As a reminder, the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale is a road-going follow-up to the 2010 TZ3 Corsa racing car study. But while the one-off TZ3 Corsa was built on the Alfa Romeo 8C, Zagato chose to use the Dodge Viper ACR as a base for the TZ3 Stradale.

Alfa Romeo Lays Out Product Plans Until 2014, Readying a New RWD Saloon with a V6 Engine

Out of all the mainstream brands included in the Fiat Group and Chrysler LLC portfolio, Alfa Romeo has the most potential to achieve a global reach and bring in some much needed cash and sales. The Italian company's boss Sergio Marchionne is well aware of this and that's one of the reasons he doesn't want to sell Alfa Romeo to Volkswagen, despite Ferdinand Piechs' persistent efforts.

However, one of the most pressing problems with Alfa Romeo is the constant delays, be that for the successors to models like the 159 series or the company's long-awaited return to the U.S. market.

Suffice it to say, there's no way of being sure that the Fiat Group has managed to sort out the time schedule-related problems when it comes to Alfa Romeo. Nevertheless, at a recent event for investors, the Fiat Group introduced an updated plan for the Milanese brand, which it hopes will revitalize Alfa Romeo through the presentation of new models.

Official: Fiat-Chrysler Alliance to Build New Small Jeep SUV at Mirafiori Plant in Italy

We have more news coming out of the Fiat Group and Chrysler LLC camp. After the announcement on the new Alfa Romeo 1.8-liter turbo engine, the group said it has finalized plans to build a new small Jeep SUV model at its Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy.

The company noted that development of the manufacturing infrastructure at Mirafiori will begin in 2012 with production of the new baby Jeep model expected to begin in the second half of 2013 alongside an updated version of Alfa Romeo's MiTo supermini.

Alfa Romeo Announces New 1.8-liter Turbo Engine with up to 300HP, Production Starts in 2013

The Fiat Group has revealed plans to produce a new four-cylinder gasoline direct injection turbo engine for Alfa Romeo at the firm's FMA plant in Pratola Serra beginning in early 2013.

The Italian company said that the all-aluminum powerplant has a displacement of 1.8-liters and will feature advanced technologies such as a 200-bar gasoline direct injection system, dual variable timing and a high-efficiency turbocharger. It will be offered in numerous versions the most powerful of which will develop 300-horses.

U.S. Fiat Dealers Disappointed by New Decision to Delay Alfa Romeo's Return

American fans of the Alfa Romeo brand are not the only ones to be upset by the Fiat-Chrysler alliance's most recent decision to delay the scheduled return of the Italian automaker to the States. So are the company’s newly launched Fiat dealerships that were expecting the brand to launch in late 2012.

While Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne never put it in ink, the company had told its 130 Fiat dealers in the USA that they would likely get Alfa Romeo cars as part of their franchise.

The Fiat-Chrysler alliance appointed a total of 130 Fiat dealers across the States, most of which already had a Chrysler store. The company gave dealers the permission to incorporate temporary showrooms in their existing Chrysler facilities, but required them to build separate and permanent stores by the end of 2012.

Another Month, Another Delay: Alfa Romeo Won't Come to the States Until 2013, Cancels SUV Plans

In what has become something of a joke for those closely following the Fiat Group's plans to re-introduce Alfa Romeo to the States, the Milanese firm's CEO Harald Wester told journalists in Frankfurt that the company has once again pushed back the U.S. presentation of several key models.

Wester also said that Alfa Romeo has canceled plans to build a mid-sized SUV at Chrysler Group's factory in Ohio. Read more »

Alfa Romeo unveils the first official glimpse of the Junior, CXover SUV and 169 - Prices Included!

During Fiat Group's two day investor and analyst event Alfa Romeo not only gave us the names of the 2008-2009 models with their images, but also kindly included their forcasted prices! Moreover, for all those watching the ticking clock until the next Alfa makes its trans-Atlantic journey, know that its U.S. launch was announced for the 3rd quarter in 2009 (models include the 169, 159, Brera and Spider). Let just hope that this time they're coming for certain. Teasers!

Junior: Set to compete with BMW's highly successful mini and Audi's future A2 successor, the Junior goes into production in 2008 with its price set to start at 16.000 EUR / 20.500 USD. Sources tell us that the Junior will be equipped with, among other engines, Fiat's new 1.4 turbo in 120 and 150 HP versions.

CXover: We might not have seen the beautiful Kamal SUV concept put into production however, its memory will live on through the CXover. According to Alfa this 5door crossover is something between an SUV and a Coupe with a length of 4.6 meters. Most possibly based on the 159 platform, the CXover will compete with BMW's X3 and Mercedes future MLK SUV's.

169: Blink a few times because this could be a poor man's Maserati Quattroporte. Hopefully they won't tweak the design too much because I think it's perfect. Judging from the prices the most logical expectation of the 169 is that it will be based on the 159/Brera platform. This means that no rear wheel drive thrills here. Instead there will be front and four wheel drive powertrains. Expect 4cylinder and V6 engines. And if we're really lucky, Alfa might through in some V8 power creating a postmodern Lancia Thema 8.32V (front wheel drive - Ferrari V8 powered!)

Ciao Italia! Fiat Group hosted a two-day event for the men with the purses (financial analysts and institutional investors) on November 8 & 9. Who cares right? Well, somewhere between the espresso and the Stromboli, Fiat Group announced the trios (Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Lancia) future product plan.

In fact, this product plan is so detailed that we are even told when the, yet to be unveiled, Fiat 500 (Trepiuno) will receive a facelift! 2008 Alfa Romeo Junior

Since we not only know that it's official, but also when it's going on sale (mid 2008, check out all the official presentations of the Fiat Group here: Fiat, Alfa & Lancia 2008-2009), it's only logical that we're going to start seeing a bunch of photoshops promising to give us an accurate view of Alfa's Junior hatch.

This time, Italian magazine Infomotori has created a series of photos previewing Alfa's MINI competitor. While I'm not so sure that they've even come close to the real thing in terms of design, they're absolutely right about the engine range: the Junior will be fitted with Fiat Group's new 1.4 Turbo that will be offered in two versions, with 120 & 150 Hp. Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia 2007-2009 Models

I've just got my hands on anupdated list (official) of the Fiat Group's product plan for the 2007-2009 period. The dates shown bellow don't concern the official unveiling but the actual date that they'll go on sale in Europe. Among others, we see that the first models in the group to get Fiat's new 1.4 Turbo engine (available in two versions with 120 & 150 Hp) will be the Alfa 147 & the Fiat Grande Punto next summer.

As for brand new models, we see that although Alfa's 147 successor, the 149 will be delayed till 2009 (!), the Italian brand will make up for it with the Junior, a niche model aimed to compete against BMW Group's Mini.

Fiat on its part, will hit the market with two new models, the Bravo & the Linea (I'll get back on the last one, cause I'm not sure which model it is) in 2007, while its long awaited mini, the 500 will go on sale early 2008 along with Lancia's most important model, the production version of the Delta HPE Concept

Now tell me, how can you avoid falling in love with something like this? Sometimes, words can't even start to describe a man's passion... Unfortunately though, Alfa seems to think that it should only please our eye's for now, so there's no Italian V8 symphony going on here. Show Girls - Fiat flashes it's new models at the Poland Motor Show...

Those of you that have visited a Fiat, Lancia or Alfa Romeo stand at any major European car show should know from first hand that when it comes to female models, the Italians get straight 'A's. Style over substance? Perhaps, but who cares! Watch a... very "juicy" video from the Fiat Group presentation at the 2006 Poland Auto Motor Show.

Official: 2008 Alfa 8C Competizione

Its official- A few hours ago, I posted up the pics (click here: 8c Competizione), now Alfa Romeo came out with an official press release informing us that'll present the production version of its stunning Alfa 8C Competizione Concept at the Paris International Motor Show this month. Alfa's new red blooded thoroughbred is based on the Maserati Coupe using a slightly enlarged version of the same Ferrari based, 4.2 V8 engine, which now has a capacity of 4,7 litres producing 450 Hp and 470 Nm (47,9 kgm) of torque.

Unfortunately, Alfa hasn't released any performance figures yet on it's limited edition coupe but at least we know now that it'll go in production early next year.Finally, it should be noted that Alfa has plans to add a roadster version (based on the concept previewed last year) to 8c Competizione's range in the near future.

Official photos: 2008 Alfa Romeo 8c Competizione

These official photos of Alfa Romeo's 8c Competizione have been roaming around the net for the past few hours revealing the form of the Italian sports coupe. It's been nearly 30 years after the last V8 powered (Montreal 1990-1997) and more than a decade from the last original, rear wheel drive Alfa (SZ & RZ 1989-1993). So you can understand how important this car is for only to Alfa Romeo.

Based on the homonymous prototype that was previewed in Coupe form in 2003 and as a Roadster later on, the rear wheel drive 8c Competizione hides its Maserati Coupe derived platform and V8 engine (upgraded to 4,7 litres from 4,2) under a sleek body reminiscent of Italian sports cars of the 50's. The only differences between the prototype and the production model seem to concern the door handles, the chromed window arch, the addition of a third bulb on the front lights and new alloys.

Although nothing certain yet, its rumoured that the 8c Competizione might make its world premiere at the Paris Internnational Motor Show, but we'll get more info on that latter.
